Roy Rogers and Loafer Loop Trails at Lake Oroville

There are many trails and several places to park at Lake Oroville. Call them for a trail map: (530) 538-2200

To Get There: From Hwy 70 in Oroville, take the Oro Dam Blvd exit and head east. After about a mile, take a right on Hwy 162 (the Olive Hwy). Turn left on Kelly Ridge Road. The Saddle Dam parking area is on the right less than a mile up Kelly Ridge Road. To get to the Roy Rogers and Loafer Loop trails, head straight across the saddle dam. The trails are well maintained and well marked. There are several water crossings during the winter and spring. Take the Roy Rogers trail to get to the Brooks Orchard picnic area (about 2 miles). It isn't an orchard at all, but there are picnic tables, and a water trough for the horses.

Heading up the Loafer Loop trail.
